Could be a couple of things 1 the drive could be bad 2 some one could have made a partition on the drive for 127 gb and didn't allocate the rest of the memmory 3 you may have a **** load of bad sectors that may or may not be repairs 4 ya got scamed check the model and do a search on the Internet make sure it's a tv drive to check souloution 2 the eaiest way would be to reformat the whole drive that way you could just make one tb driv or se if you can just allocate the other space without reformating the 127 partition if you need help with reformatting just google it there's numerous documentations on the subject I would tell u but I'm on my iPhone .... A easy way to do it is to run the disk management sofware that windows has it will show your drive and any unallocated space that may be on the drive chech souloutin 3 once you have done 2 and you get your space back hopefully go to start run type cmd and then go to your external drive by typing drive letter: ex F: then enter then type chkdsk/f and let that run it could take a while Soilution 4 slap the guy that sold it to u jk but def try and get ur money back

Depending on your computer, if it is older, it may not be able to recognized and more than 127GB. I don't know anything about your computer, which makes this very hard for me to be more accurate. Try using it as an external on another computer and see if that changes things.

Older motherboards (before the massive Memory Increases 500Gb, 1TB) nover planned on it getting that high, so it was not in the programming.
Give that a try.. Sorry I could not be of more help..

May be set in your BIOS so go there and see what it says. You may have to change your OS software too.

Hi:
Your computer must be a Windows XP computer, as some versions did not support hard drives bigger than 127 gb.

The way to fix it is to use the Western Digital installation CD that came with your hard drive and run their installation program, Data Lifeguard Tools. It will configure your system to recognize the entire drive.
