- Make sure that the customer's computer meets the system requirements.
- WINDOWS XP Operating System: Right-click My Computer, then click Properties.
- WINDOWS VISTA Operating System: Right-click My Computer, then click Properties.
- MAC OS: Click the Apple icon and select about this Mac
NOTE: Home Center Software can only be installed if the minimum system requirements are met.
Make sure to log the system information into eGain. - Unregister and register the WINDOWS Installer:
- Select Start > Run.
- To unregister, type msiexec /unreg, then click OK.
- To register type msiexec /regserver, then click OK.
- Enable services in the WINDOWS Operating System:
CAUTION: Use caution when performing the following steps. If you modify a service incorrectly, a system crash may occur. - Click Start > Run.
- Type services.msc, then click OK.
- One at a time, right-click each of the following services, then follow the steps below the list.
- Background Intelligent Transfer Services
- Cryptographic Services
- Remote Procedure Call (RPC) locator
- Printer Spooler
- Windows Installer
- Click Properties.
- Under the General tab, next to Startup type, select Automatic.
- Click OK.
- Repeat these steps for all of the services.
