Before i could give you any solution, I need to know few thinks about your issue. 1. Please let me know that what type of printer are you using with it's exact make and model no. 2. Was it ever working before if yes than when did it stop working 3. Did you make any changes in your computer that you remember? You have also mentioned that you were trying to download the drivers and it's not been loaded yet even after an hour so there might be some problem with your browser maybe a virus or so? So also tell me that Which operating system are you using?
