This is related to Hardware.

There might be a lose Ram of data cable connection on Motherboard.

This type of issue is also seen when the there is dust accumulation on Process Fan and CPU fan resulting in over heating.

This might also be due to malfunction of a motherboard.

The third reason could be that SMPS his not working.

Dell dimension 5150 wont boot past post. I've tried afew things but nothing works. can you help? thanks

If it won't go past POST then there is a hardware error. Try removing the hard drive and RAM. The mother board should complain at power on giving messages. If it does, try fitting the RAM module by module, then the hard drive.

Describe your dell dimension E521 wont boot and Problem my computer turns on but doesn't open it goes to a black screen with little flashing bar in top left corner nothing new was installed but there...

The 123 lights on tower translates as:

Routine system activity subsequent to video initialization.
Watch your monitor for on-screen messages.

Disconnect the video cable from the computer and see if you get floating color bars on display. If not, your monitor is defective.

Dell Dimension 5150 Boot Problems!

You can probably try two things here.

1) Go to the BIOS and reset the defaults.
2) Clear NVRAM from your Dell computer. Here is how you do it.

Nothing appear on the screen of my Dell Dimension 5150. What to do?

There is problem with your RAM , if you know to open your machine side cover open it , there will be a vertically fixed green color chip is called RAM , have to remove by releasing the white color locks at both ends of the RAM, and then RUB the RAM contacts with a normal eraser to clean the fungus layer , after that refix the RAM by watching the position of the small cut in the RAM , you will get display Thank you but dont forget to vote for me. the RAM picture is below744b9a0.jpg

Dell dimension 5150 boot up difficulties - just goes to the Dell screen and then nothing - a little blinking white dash in the upper left corner. I usually hit f12 to boot from there, but it seems that...

try to run diags, press f12 when booting the choose utility partiton. check for any error on your HDD but it seems like its an OS issue so all you need to do is to uninstall and reinstall your OS

Dell 5150 Start-Up Problem.. beeps

Beeping on startup is a memory error. The blue screen you got was most likely caused by a memory error as well. First, take out then re-install your memory. If the error persists and you have more than one stick, test each one singly to find out which stick is bad.
