Programming a frequency into a channel clears the previous channel entry, so there's really no need to "clear" the scanner for reprogramming. To eliminate an unwanted frequency, you can either press the LOCKOUT key to prevent the scanner from stopping on a specific channel, or you can "zero" a channel:

1. Press SCAN/MAN to stop
scanning.
2. Use the number keys to enter
the channel number (1-200)
you want to clear.
3. Press PGM. F=C appears.
4. Press 0 then ENT. The
frequency number changes to
000.0000 to indicate the
channel is cleared.

How to clear old codes of a scanner

I don't know of any global RESET function for your model scanner, but you can clear/delete the frequency (they're not codes) in any channel by programming 0 (zero) into the channel. Also, programming any new frequency into a channel automatically deletes/overwrites the previously programmed frequency.

Lost owners manuel. need code install instructions. and also how to clear off all old codes

There is no general reset function that will clear all of the frequencies (they're not codes) from your scanner, but there are two ways to clear individual frequencies:
1. Programming "0.0" (zero point zero) into a channel will remove the programmed frequency.
2. Programming a new frequency into any channel will remove/override the previously programmed frequency.

I want to dump the old programs and reprogram new freqs. for the uniden bc72xlt

Your can RESET your scanner to erase all data that you've programmed into it and return it to its original factory settings. To do this:
1. Power the scanner OFF.
2. While holding in the 2, 9, and HOLD keys, power the scanner ON. The process takes about 3 seconds, and the word CLEAr will display.

For single channels, you can program "000.0000" into any one of them to clear its programmed data, or just program a new frequency into the channel. The new data will override the old information.

My pro 94 scanner shows the code luired when turned on. How do I fix this?

I'm guessing that the display shows "wired" and not "luired." This mode, along with the code, is supposed to clear when the computer programming cable is disconnected. If you don't have a cable connected, your only option is to RESET the scanner to its original factory settings. Just a caution: resetting the scanner will erase/delete all programmed information -- you will have to reprogram all of the data that you've previously entered. To RESET the PRO-94:

1. Turn the scanner OFF.
2. While holding down the 2 and 9 keys, power the scanner ON. The message "CLEAR" will flash for about 5 seconds while the scanner resets.

NOTE: Do not turn the scanner OFF until "CLEAR" stops flashing.

I cleared my pro-82 scanner. Program button is not working to let me reprogram. Help.

As long as all frequencies have been cleared, try initializing the scanner. This will return everything to the original factory settings.

To INITIALIZE:
- Turn the scanner OFF, then switch it back ON.
- Hold down the TUNE/CLEAR button.
- While continuing to hold the TUNE/CLEAR button down, insert a pointed object such as a paperclip or the tip of a pen into the RESET opening on the side of the scanner, and press the RESET button inside the opening. The display should go blank.
- When the display comes back on, press the TUNE/CLEAR button again. The scanner should now be ready to accept programming.

I have pro 135 from radio shack. How do I reset it and keep the channels that are programed in it?

The RESET function will clear everything that you have programmed into the scanner and restore original factory settings. You can, however, restore the 150 pre-programmed frequencies after a RESET.

To RESET:
- Power the scanner OFF.
- Hold down the 2, 9, and PSE keys and power the scanner ON.
- CLEAr appears on the display as the scanner resets.
- Do not power the scanner OFF until CLEAr disappears from the display.

To restore the original 150 pre-programmed frequencies:
- Turn the scanner power OFF.
- Hold down the 3 and ENT/PGM keys and power the scanner ON.

How to clear all my frequencies from my portable scanner

To clear all information that you've programmed into the scanner you can perform a RESET to original factory settings:

1. Turn off the scanner.
2. While holding down the 2 and 9 keys, turn on the
scanner. CLEAR flashes for about 5 seconds as
the scanner clears its memory.
Note: Do not turn off the scanner again until CLEAR
stops flashing. Otherwise, the scanner might not clear its memory properly.

Scanner says WIRED when i turn it on, and it won't do anything

A RESET may clear the problem, but it will also erase all frequencies and data that you've programmed into the scanner. To RESET the PRO-94,
- Turn the scanner OFF
- While holding the 2 and 9 keys down, turn the scanner ON. CLEAR will flash for about 5 seconds as the scanner clears its memory and restores factory settings. Do NOT turn the scanner OFF until CLEAR stops flashing.

How do you clear all channels so i can put the channels that i want in it

There is no need to clear the scanner before reprogramming. When you enter a new frequency it will automatically overwrite the old frequency. To clear unwanted frequencies you can program "0.0" into any channel to clear it, or simply use the LOCKOUT feature to prevent the scanner from stopping on a channel.
