repair guy says my york ecm motor is burned out and needs replacement. estimated cost with labor is $1000.00...any other options as I am out of work and on a very tight budget?

can you give as the full specification of your ecm motor? and the details regarding to it?

if the inducer is bad it must be replaced. I would call around for prices - seems a little high. (have the furnace model and serial number when you call)

- should have said ECM motor instead of inducer. ECM motors are very expensive. People don't know that when they buy these fancy new furnaces they will cost a fortune to repair when they break. Also be sure you don't have any warrenty left.Nov 05, 2009
