DRIVER: YOU ARE THE WHEELMAN PC GAME PROBLEM

i just recently got a COMPAQ Presario C700 laptop for christmas. (i have windows vista) i downloaded the driver game off the internet. when i installed it, i had to configure the settings so that it would work. the game works fine, but some important features were missing. first of all, the in game music didnt work after i constantly tried the settings. then i get cheat codes and those dont even work when i enter them at the main screen. i had to hack into the program files just to get the codes working. next, the film director and quick replay features are completely nonfunctional. im thinking about buying a CD rom version instead. have yu ever had this problem?
