- my computer came with the dvd built in burner and drivers before it crashed it worked fine and i added my cd drivers and thought it said for dvds also but when i use a cdr-rw disk it copies data & makes cds if it is a music cd why wont it copy to cdr-rw data disk?
If you do not have a dvd burner and dvd burning software your computer will not recognize the disk(DVD) as being empty and burnable. CD's and DVD's are in different formats.

- You may also want to check what type of disk you are attempting to burn. Data, or music format. When you put a blank disk into the drive and the window pops up asking what you want to do, take care to select the proper format ie. data or music. Another way to burn is to highlight the item you want and right click it and send it to the drive. after a brief time a balloon will pop up stating that you have files waiting to be burned. Click the balloon and the burn disk window will pop up. Take care to look at the options in the left window pane.
that could be a number a problems. wmp will make a cd but will not burn music to a dvd to make it play like a cd. as much as i know that sounds like the cd drive is self or your media player. try renstallig your os and go from there. and if you want to back your music, pictures, ect buy an external hard drive and copy it to that. ok well um if you want to back up your music to a disk put a disk into the computer and rather than using wmp go to your music folder and drag and drop your music to a disk, ok if you do that the disk will be a data disk not an audio cd meining you will not be able to play it in a cd player but your computer will read it and if you go the data disk direction you can put alot more songs on it.
cd-r80 are for music. Your best option is to buy a program like nero. I assume you are just dragging and dropping files to burn them right now. dvd's are more meant for backing up data or making movies because they hold a lot more data then a cd. Are you able to burn disc's at all? Just like all things involved with computers it can get complicated real quick.I hope this helps a little and if you have more questions let me know Thanks, Lee

For a few weeks now i have had a problem connecting to my wireless network. I thought it could have been a problem with the network itself of the modem but i have another laptop that can still connect without any hassles. I am able to still get on the net but i need to use my wireless USB plug-n (for use while traveling) The computer says i have no network at all so it doesnt make sence to me, i even had a technitian look at it for me and he said it could be a problem with the hardware. My laptop is still under warenty and i went back to visit the seller and they told me to do this. Can you please help me? Thank you for your time Mrs Nick
