Well, that was the first thing I tried but it didn't work. It just doesn't send the signal to the bluetooth device ( no problems when in call mode though ). The sound comes through the phone but sounds very muted and distant. I guess its just some kind of compatibility issue, since the bluetooth headset is not stereo. Anyway, the bluetooth drains my battery so fast, so I'm not gonna use it to listen to music through it :). Thanks for trying though

It should just be a manner of turning on the media player on the phone and pressing the button just the left of the roller ball (it's got 7 dots on it) and sending using bluetooth while the headset it on.

How do I pair my phone to my blue tooth

Connecting a Bluetooth headset or car kit You can listen to music over a Bluetooth stereo headset, or have hands-free conversations using a compatible Bluetooth headset or car kit. It's the same procedure to set up stereo audio and hands-free.
  • For you to listen to music with your headset or car kit, the headset or car kit must support the A2DP Bluetooth profile.
  • Before you connect your headset, you need to make it discoverable so your phone can find it. You can find out how to do this by referring to your headset manual.
  1. From the Home screen, press MENU, and then tap Settings > Wireless & networks.
  2. Tap Bluetooth settings.
  3. If the Bluetooth check box is not selected, select it to turn Bluetooth on.
  4. Make sure that the headset is discoverable.
  5. Tap Scan for devices. Your phone will start to scan for Bluetooth devices within range.
  6. When you see the name of your headset displayed in the Bluetooth devices section, tap the name. Your phone then automatically tries to pair with the headset.
  7. If automatic pairing fails, enter the passcode supplied with your headset.
The pairing and connection status is displayed below the hands-free headset or car kit name in the Bluetooth devices section. When the Bluetooth headset or car kit is connected to your phone, the Bluetooth connected icon is displayed in the status bar. Depending on the type of headset or car kit you have connected, you can then start using the headset or car kit to listen to music and/or make and receive phone calls.

I want to listen to music on my phone with my bluetooth headset

iIn order to listen to music on your blue tooth headset you first must pair them to your phone,To do this you first must turn the power to blue tooth to on in your phone menu, then you will have to put your blue tooth device into discovery mode, most bt manufactures use the power button for this feature, when turning your headset on continue holding down the power button for 6 to 10 seconds and a light should stay on ,thus putting your bt device into discovery mode thenfrom your phone you can search or add new device,it should recognize the device and ask for a pin or pairing code. Most manufactures use a factory 4 digit pin pairing code, they are as follows 0000,1234,9999,or 1111,once your code is entered they should pair, then you will be able to use your blue tooth device to listen to music.glad to be of assistance

How to pair a phone to a blue tooth device?

Instructions

Pair Your Blackberry with a Blue-tooth Headset

Turn on Blue-tooth headset and Blackberry hand-held.

Enable the Blue-tooth radio by going to the options window and clicking on Blue-tooth. Click on Enable Blue-tooth in that window.

Add your Blue-tooth headset to your Blackberry by clicking on Add Device in the Blue-tooth window.

Find and select the name of your Blue-tooth headset from the list that appears. The Blackberry will search for all Blue-tooth devices within range, so other devices might show up on the list.

Click Activate Blue-tooth device if you receive a call and the Blue-tooth headset does not pick up automatically.

Use your Blue-tooth Headset with your Blackberry

Make sure the Blue-tooth radio on your Blackberry is turned on before you try to use your Blue-tooth headset.

Use the voice-dial feature to call contacts if your headset has that capability. Not all headsets support voice dialing, but more of the newer models do.

Press the on/off button on your headset to end a call or use the end button on the hand held.

Tips & Warnings

Pair your Blackberry with any Blue-tooth-enabled device using the same steps as those for connecting a Blue-tooth headset.

Remove your Blue-tooth headset from the list of paired devices on your Blackberry by selecting and clicking on Delete Device in the Bluetooth window.

Configure your Blackberry to connect to a paired Bluetooth headset without asking for authorization in the Bluetooth Device Properties window. That will allow your headset to automatically reconnect even if you take it out of range temporarily.

Only configure a Bluetooth headset to your Blackberry once. Once you configure the pairing between the two devices, the settings are saved and you do not have to repeat the processes each time you use it.

Turn off the Bluetooth radio on your Blackberry when not in use for security reasons.

Adjust volume on your headset or hand-held to a comfortable level. Excess volume from in-the-ear headsets can cause hearing damage.

is this the first time that you're going to pair the phone and the headset? try to turn off both devices, turn on the blue tooth headset, try to press and hold the power button for 5 seconds until you see a solid led light on the headset, try to open the phone, open the phone's blue tooth then search the headset. If the phone is asking you to enter a code try to enter 0000.

Is your HP Blue Tooth compatible? Check the specs for your system and see. If it does not say it has Blue Tooth compatibility then you can buy a rather inexpensive Blue Tooth doggle that plugs into one of your USB ports.
