Problems with Sansa

Hi I just bought a Sansa e260 and i'm having troubles connecting to my computer, it'll connect to charge, but it wont actually say "connect" when my computer tries to read it, it says its an unknown device, and that there may be a malfunction. I know theres not a problem with the actual mp3 player cuz it'll work on my boyfriends comp which is set up via Vista, i have Windows Xp. would it just be a driver issue? if so how do i fix that?

Re: problems with Sansa

You dont need that stuff you should just try this. go to settings go down to usb mode and click or select it and put it on msc or if that doesnt work put it on the other setting which is mtp

There is a trick to charging the battery in these small mp3 players. It wont charge if it is turned on, and it won't charges if it's turned off. Here what to do...
1. plug the payer into your USB port. or wall charger
2. switch thje palyer on using the mechanical switch (on the side)
3. turn it off by either holding down the play button, or selecting "System" from the menu

Hi I bought scandisk e260 without cd, when I connect it to the computer, the computer ask me to locate driver. Where can I get driver? thanks

Try connecting it to another computer and see if it will recognize it as sansa or removable drive. if it does then download the sansa update software and install it. Make sure you disconnect the sansa and connect it when asked. This will update your sansa and add the Usb Mode. Try to connect it to your computer at home it should recognize.... link for update software ( download to a flash drive much easier Make sure USB mode is MSC I use my computer to drag and drop my music from my music folder to the sansa media folder.... Open my computer click on folder what ever folder has your music in it and drag to media folder and drop (click on the (+)where it say's sansa ) easier not to sync

Sansa E260 Charging Problem

The battery may have become disconnected from the contacts, therefore it will not charge the battery but lights up when connected to the PC. Remove the 4 screws on the back, remove and re-seat the battery. Charge the device for a few hours. Best of Luck. p.s.- you can add to this question if this didnt help.
