My nextech esdvd100 stopped recognize dvd/cd: message-no disk. I did use laser lances cleaner, doesn't work. It doesn't recognize any disk. It looks like speed of disk is slow.
I have the same problem. Nexxtech said they won't support the esdvd100 for parts/service/schmatics. Neither will Circuit City??? Anybody else find parts???I have the same problem. I have a similar problem but instead of saying no disk it says "close" as if its trying to close. A little while before this the cd player had simply stopped moving in and out altogether, I had a disk in there and I dont really need it for cds any more so I tried to get the cd out. I ended up pushing it further in though and now its completly non-fuctional becuase it thinks its closing continously. Its the only way I can get sound out of my X-box so if anyone has any good ideas I would be much appreciated!
P.S I even went as far as to open and complelty remove the disk drive but it still gives me the same problem

If it happens for only one particular disk: Bring that disk to a game store like Gamestop or Rock30 Games and have them professionally clean the disk for a couple bucks.
If it happens for all disks: Clean the cd/dvd with a laser lens cleaning kit. If that doesn't fix it then the cd/dvd drive will need to be replaced.
Does this player still recognize another disc that was not made from it ? of it doesn't recognize and disc at all? if that is teh case that this can be a problem with the lens of the player already you can try to run a DVD cleaner and hopefully that will fix the problem but if still not this may need a lens replacement already...
Hello, Just click on the link http://support.microsoft.com/mats/cd_dvd_drive_problems/en-us and also click on NOW RUN from right side box. It will automatically give youthe message, well or bad. If the problem with the lens, you should try cleaningthe lens, with disk cleaner, it's already gone bad and there is no harm to take a risk to open ordisassemble the dvd/cd rw,click on the bellow link

hi, may be ur dvd players laser pickup unit may have some problem. may be is lance need cleaning. open the cover and clean the laser pickup units Lance with an ear bud. do not use any pressure. also don't use any chemical. it will damage the unit.after cleaning just inset a disk and check it. if problem remains ur dvd's laser pickup need to be replaced. another way is bought a lance cleaning cd from the market if available. insert it in ur dvd. it will clean ur dvds lance to some extend. ok
You can try cleaning it with a dvd disk cleaner first. If that dont work by a cheap dvd player and run it to the inputs on the back of the surround player.
Mine started doing this just the other day and stopped playing the DVD it was playing. I found a solution for a portable player that worked on this one. You need to open it, eject the tray and slide the laser carriage back and forth all the way two or three times gently and by grabbing on to plastic that hooks around the metal bar on the right if you are facing the player from the front. Then plug it in and play a CD all the way through and this recalibrates the laser.
I wonder how many people throw away their DVD players when this is all it needs. Makes me sick to think about it.
if the problem is in every movie you should try to clean the lance there are special kits for it.
If in some movies check if the DVD are not scratched.
