Interface error

we had a disc get stuck--we turned the power off and on--nothing--then unplugged the AC cord--thought we had it because theDVD started playing but then the words INTERFACE

ERROR--Turn off power came up. We still could not remove the disc before this message appeared--went to the troubleshooting part of the manual--where the player locks up (which it did do after teh interface message) and it told us to go to the general menu to reset the DVD/VCR and highlight and select USER DEFAULT ....there was no such selection there.What now???

disk is stuck,Cannot open to remove.Unplugged power cord and nothing .Just the emblem showing the disc is turning with the showing of READING.Tried to call RCA service but no answer.

Will it be less frustrating when we are all up to our asses in discarded electronics? At least donate the damn thing to someone who may be able to make it work . . .

I have the same problem. I have a RCA model DRC8320N. Just started this week. Apparently RCA does not want to address this issue. I did get my disc out. Opened the dvd door and pushed up on the tray to make it stop turning then kept hiting the open button until it opened.

Throw it away and buy a new one. Less frustration.
