I am guessing you get power but it just sits there doing nothing? No Acer splash screen? Likely the motherboard needs to be replaced. Generally the Northbridge chip or the Nvidia GPU have a bad solder (solder balls) connection or it could be something attached such as bad memory DIMM or other peripheral gone bad such as hard drive, DVD drive, modem, wifi, etc. Best is to get the machine to just a motherboard with memory, ac adapter and processor and see if it turns on and goes to BIOS. If so put one thing back at a time till the problem comes back and you will know what is the problem. If the stripped unit doesn't come on to the splash screen then get a different memory DIMM and check that. If not you are probably looking at a motherboard replacement.
1or 2 things mother board batterys is dead or mother board is c`racked or whole ac plug in the back is shot

The finger print bull is how that password came up for me and they want a 125.00 to remove it. I called the better business bureau and filed a complaint. They shouldn't have any right to control your laptop. I to have a 6292 , took it apart as far as I could and could not find jumper or password. This is a gimmick to make money.
