Television won't turn on and the power light

98% OF THE TIME 3 blinks (which is short protection) means one or both of the two STK-392-110 convergence IC's is shorted.

Both chips along with any of the dozen or so 2.2 ohm blue resistors around them that are bad need to be replaced and the set adjusted.

You can buy a pair of chips on Ebay for less than 13 dollars plus shipping.

I have start to finish, step by step instructions I can post here if you are able to do the repair yourself.

I have a set tomorrow very much like yours I am going to go repair--same problem. Most shops get 300 or more for this repair--It takes about one hour and should be able to be done right in your home.

If you get someone to do this repair---make sure BOTH chips get changed or you are going to have the same kind of problem in a few months.
