Oasis washer does not spin and leaves an "oL" message

oL is an Overload error. Try running a cycle empty.

If oL (overloaded) appears in display, the load too large. If an overload is detected, the washer will drain any water and detergent in the washer. Remove several items and add HE detergent. Close lid and press START/PAUSE.

First, OL/UL stands for "Overload", so in other words, the washer things the tub is too hard to move because it's overloaded and the motor is struggling or the unit is way out of balance causing the washer to struggle. The most common problem is a nut below the inner tub that needs to "float". Floating is when the tub fills up with water to a certain level the inner basket will rise about 1 inch from the center agitator. What this does is disengage the basket from the motor so that the agitator can rotate independently from the basket. If the basket does not float then when it tries to agitate the whole basket will turn back and forth at the same speed as the agitator and this will cause the OL/UL error code.

Hi jbrundage1. I believe you have a UL error code on the washer. It means that the sensors in the washer are sensing the unit is unbalanced. When the washer is empty, set it to a spin or rinse and spin setting. Run the washer through the cycle empty, as it will help to remove any excess water in the tub. Also, make sure the washer is level, as it is balanced on springs, and that could be throwing the sensors off. I hope these suggestions prove helpful. OL error means the Motor Controller has sensed an Overload.

The oL code means the motor control board is struggling to power the motor up. If it recurs after removing some clothes - usually this means a new motor control.... or worse - a new bearing.

If it were a problem with the tub floating up, the unit would spin instead of nutate.

Bearing failure in this machine is very common.

I suspect the drive shaft and bearing are the problem. The bearing and shaft are part of the outer tub.

The new outer tub with bearing W10128830 cost approximately $197 dollars.

If you can get access to the shaft it may be an Emory cloth will help smooth things down so that you no longer get the OL code.

This is an ambitious do-it-yourself project... as most appliance repairmen don't understand how this machine operates.

It sounds like you have a timer going bad.

That's how it's supposed to work. I suspect a motor / transmission problem.

could have a blocked drain/ coin trap. Look under the washer behind a panel or in the back. You may have to take out screws

Try unplugging for 12 hrs before reconnecting
If the problem continues then the controler board is damaged and will need to be replaced.

Try this:
The filter on your pump is probably clogged with lint and stuff. You have to remove the bottom front panel, 3 torx screws underneath. The panel will drop and come off. Drain off the excess water from the drain pipe you see. The white filter cover is right in front. Get yourself a good plastic bag to collect water. Unscrew the filter cover and twist the filter out. Clean out all the stuff and put it back in carefully. Check your pump too.
