Download your Xbox Live profile
You might want to download your Xbox Live gamer profile in the following situations:

• You want to use your Xbox Live gamertag on another console.
• You have a Zune, Games for Windows, or Windows 8 Microsoft account (download your existing account instead of creating a new account).
• You accidentally deleted your Xbox Live gamertag from your console.

You can download your Xbox Live gamertag to any console. Here's how:

1. Press the Xbox Guide button on your controller (large X button in the center of your controller).
2. Select Download Profile.
Note Not seeing Download Profile? Press X to sign out of your profile.

3. Enter the Microsoft account associated with your Xbox Live gamertag. If you don't know your Microsoft account or password, see Find your Microsoft account or password.Note "Microsoft account" is the new name for what used to be called "Windows Live ID." It's the email address and password you use to sign in to Microsoft services (including Xbox Live). Find out more.
   
4. Now, enter your Microsoft account password.Note If your account is an Xbox Live child account, the parent's Microsoft account information is required to download the profile.
   
5. Select the storage device for your profile (for example, Hard Drive).
Your profile will begin downloading. Once your profile is downloaded, you can choose whether or not you want to require your Microsoft account password to sign into your profile.

Change payment for an Xbox LIVE membership

Xbox LIVE purchases and membership renewals are charged to the payment option that is associated with your Xbox LIVE account. Use the following steps to add or change a payment option that is associated with your Xbox LIVE account. If you want to remove a payment option, please see Remove an Xbox LIVE payment option.
Show all Console steps: Add or change a payment option

1. Sign in using your Xbox LIVE gamertag.
2. Go to My Xbox, and then select your avatar.
3. Go to Account Management, and then select Manage Account.
4. Go to Your Memberships, and then select the membership that you want to change (for example, Xbox LIVE Gold).
5. Select Change Payment Options.
6. Do one of the following:
   • Select Add Credit Card to add a new credit card.
   • Select Add PayPal for information about how to add a PayPal account at xbox.com/accounts. PayPal is not available in all regions. For a list of supported regions, please see Using PayPal with your Xbox LIVE Account.
   • To edit an existing payment option, select the payment option.
   

Computer steps: Add or change a payment option You can also you can add or edit Xbox LIVE account information using the Microsoft Billing and Account Management website. Here's how:

1. On a computer, go to https://billing.microsoft.com, and sign in using the Windows Live ID (email and password) that is associated with your Xbox LIVE account.
   
   Note If you don't know your Windows Live ID or password, please see Manage your Windows Live ID.
   
2. Click Go to personal information.
3. To change a payment option, click View/Edit next to the payment type that you want to change.
4. Now you can add or edit a payment method.
   
   Edit a payment
   Click Edit payment method information and update your payment information.
   Add a payment
   Click Use a different payment method to add a new payment method and follow the on-screen instructions.

The best thing you can do is to probably try another Windows Live ID. You can also try to change the name and password for the current account.

First you would have to connect your Xbox to the internet. Steps for this can be seen on xbox.com. Assuming you have already connected it to the internet, you can either purchase an Xbox live gold membership with a credit card on xbox.com, or use a prepaid subscription card and enter the code on the xbox live marketplace. 2.click sign up
3.If you are using a hotmail,MSN,or live email account you dont need to create a new one
4.If you have a existing email please click " Or use your own email " but if you dont have existing email please use the form to create a new one
5. please enter the information needed,what i suggest please enter your real information and not a bogus one and please do remember your email address that you have created or use and also the password and please make sure when you selected a secret question you have to enter the secret answer and you need to remember it

1.go to the xbox dashboard
2. go to my xbox
3.select join xbox live
4.it will prompt you that you need to enter tour email address and password (email address that you associated with Windows Live ID )
5.it will ask you to create a gamertag ( i suggest create a gamertag that doesnt contain any malicious,profane,distriminating and foul words)
6.it will prompted you that you need to choose a Gold subcription in order for you go play online (note: you need to have a credit card)
* now if you dont have a credit card please select " no"
Note:there are 2 ways to subcribe for xbox live gold subscription (1) using a credit card (2) thru prepaid card,you can buy prepaid card xbox live Gold subcription thru any stores

7. now once you have completed the request it will ask you to create a avatar or the mini self in your xbox
8.it will prompt you that you need to test xbox live connect select yes and then another prompt will ask you to sent a copy of xbox test connection result when prompted select yes

this also happens when you recover you gamer tag too many times, its a safety thing, go to live.com sign in an you will have a message follow the steps to re activate your account, sill i know but it worked for me...

Managing Xbox LIVE Activity
Xbox LIVE Controls come into play only when you take Xbox 360 online, and they're linked to a child's profile and gamertag. When an Xbox LIVE account is created, the service asks for the member’s age to determine whether to apply Family Settings to that account.
Parents are also required to create or use an existing Windows Live ID. The Windows Live ID is associated with the child’s Xbox LIVE account and protects the settings from being changed later by the child. To change a child’s settings, first select the child’s account name and connect to Xbox LIVE. Once signed in, enter your Windows Live ID password to unlock the settings.
To see these controls, go to My Xbox, open System Settings, then selectFamily Settings, Xbox LIVE Controls.

To recover your gamertag from Xbox LIVE:

1. Sign out from all of your profiles. The fastest way to do this is to press the Xbox Guide button, press X, and select Yes, sign out.
   
2. Select Recover Gamertag.
   
3. Follow the directions on the screen. Note
   
   You can enter information using a USB keyboard plugged into a controller port, the Xbox 360 Chatpad (sold as part of the Xbox 360 Messenger Kit), or your Xbox 360 controller and the on-screen virtual keyboard.
   
   
   
4. When you're finished, your profile will be downloaded from Xbox LIVE to your console and you'll see your avatar in the Sign In area. You're good to go!
   Note
   
   If you're a minor, you'll be asked to supply Windows Live ID credentials for your parent, who will need to be present to complete the procedure. Your parent will need his or her own Windows Live ID and a valid e-mail address.
   
   If you've forgotten your password or need help determining which e-mail address you associated with your Windows Live ID, see Xbox 360: Invalid E-mail Address or Password.
   
5. If you're recovering a Zune Tag as your gamertag, check your billing information after recovery is complete. You may need to update your billing info before you can set up an Xbox LIVE Gold membership or download content from Xbox LIVE Marketplace.
