Error message of E1 on answering machine. What does that mean

Same problem on Panasonic Kx-tg2346 cordless phone. User manual does not mention error message E1. All error messages in teh book are full text descriptions so the E1 code seems strange. It started 3 days ago.

I have same problem, started 3 days ago. I could not figure it out. I checked the user manual and there was no info on this error message.
