I really hope you can help.
I have a 2003 F-150 Super crew cab truck... the lights are working but the break lights, blinkers and hazard lights are not working... to make the problem even more of "a problem" if you but the high beams on, the right turn signal indicator light on the dash comes on and blinks really fast and makes a buzzing noise. it's as if there's a short in the control arm... in addition, the "third or added light" over the cab does break when it should... just not the rear lights. is there anything I can do to keep from having to pay $80+ just to have the dealer put the truck on a machine to assess the problem? thanks! you can write me at captnron1968@yahoo.com
If you are talking about hooking the truck to an engine diagnostics computer that will not likely diagnose the problem. The dealer wil have to troubleshoot the wiring and that can get expensive if the tech is not super proficient in that area.
Have you had ANY non factory modifications added such as alarms, remote starts, aftermarket lights, or trailer wiring connections? If so I would start there. you may email me with more details at bkbell@brianbell.net or visit www.brianbell.net. Please elaborate and I will do what I can to help you.
