Hello and thanks for using FixYa,
Your LCD inverter board has gone bad and needs to be replaced Here is a link to purchase an inverter board for the L300 http://www.notebookparts.com/products/description.php?II=29526
and here is a general guide to replacing an inverter board http://www.laptoprepair101.com/laptop/2007/01/31/replace-screen-inverter-fix-backlight/
I would rate it a 3/5 as far as difficulty Just be gentle as your screen can easily be damaged by excessive pressure
