Question about Linksys Wireless-G WRT54G Router
I am having a problem setting up a personal SSID id for my wireless. I am told I need to uninstall and reinstall the router on my pc. How do I do that?
A SSID is from (underline from) the router. Go to administrate your router. In there will be a tab for management. In the box for SSID enter one you like; refrain from you house number, phone number, etc.
On your pc, double click on the wireless icon by your clock On the right it will say "change order of prefered networks", click on that. In the new window, look on the right again. DELETE all the networks you see; then close. Get back to the wireless network window you first opened. Find your SSID. Click connect. If you put WEP or WPA on the router you will need to enter the password at this stage.
