New Gateway KEyboard problems

I We bought a new Gateway and the blue screen of death kept coming up so we took it back it they gave us a new one but now we had it for about 4 days and it was working fine we even put a wireless keyboard and mouse on it but now once you get past the start up screen it doesn't let the mouse or keyboard work I hit F2 when I was restarting once and looked at an error log and it said Can't find keyboard (29) or something like that it's weird cause the keyboard will work when you are in the screen and in F12 but not in safemode or when the computer is started normally. Any suggestions?
