Ipod nano screen powered on but nothing being displayed

Hi, i have a 2nd gereration nano. After a run at the gym some sweat got to it and the screen would not display anything, you can see it's on but no info.

Is there a solution to this other than buying a new one?

You can replace the LCD display screen. There are several websites out there that sell the parts and the cover removal tools. It's really not that hard to do, but it runs between $50-100. Type in "Ipod parts" and you'll get several hits for prospective vendors.

hi there, it means that the screen is broken. When LCD's get subjected to certain conditions, they will exhibit strange behavior. In this case, see if the nano has it's service plan still enabled. If so, just send it off to apple and they will repair it. If not, you need to buy a new iPod as the old one is broken and it is more expensive to repair it than buy it.

Ipod Nano

That means that the inverter board for the LCD has gone out or there is a bad connection internally and it is not getting the signal to display the info. Your best bet is to see how much Apple wants to fix it. If it is too much I would say time for a new one. Fry's Electronics is selling the new 8GB Nano for somewhere between 139 and 159. That is their regular price.

My ipod nano 2nd gen's screen won't display anything..

I have had this problem recently myself and would like you to know that it is possible to fix. The white screen error or otherwise known as "white screen of death" is caused by the lcd color screen on the ipod itself. That is why its functions still work but the screen does not. Once you replace the color screen it will be as good as new.
