Sony Wega Blinking Standby Light

My TV will not turn on and the stand by light is blinking 7 times, which I found out means exceeded high voltage and says to check power supply regulation & horizontal circuits. What does this mean? All of a sudden this happened. Please help!

similar problem in that when I try to turn set on, the blinking red "timer/standby" light comes on and not the picture. Difference is that the set will on rare occasions turn on and operate properly, but if I turn it off, the next time it goes back to blinking. Also, it seems to turn on only in the morning. Because I can turn it on occasionally, I have tried to set it back to factory settings and made sure it is not on timer or anything else. The problem persists.

As you can see here, seven blinks of standby light is due to some over voltate at the final anode of the picture tube. This is a protection process that going on insde the tV circuits, to prevent more damage to other comnponents on board. The most common cause for this is with the main power regulator out voltage itself. If any way, it ahs exceeded 135VDC, this kind of fault will occur. Check the main power regulator section circuit for any damaged component/s. Replace all the small electrolytic capacitors there. Visit the site named 'Electro-help' for more details. TV will not come on.

The 7 blinks indicate a high voltage shutdown (high voltage exceeded 33,000V). This is usually caused by a defective regulator. Could you please post the exact model number (KVxxx) and I'll look up the part you will likely need?

Thanks,
Dan

Sony Triniton Wega Model KV 32HS510. After pushing the power button, the tv starts to power up, then the standby light blinks 7 times then pauses before blinking 7 times again. It continues to do this,...

This is usually an indication of a failure in the scan amplifier sections. When the scan amplifiers or high voltage sections fail, the main power supply will usually also require servicing.

It is very common that the fly-back and high voltage multiplier and also the horizontal output stage fails in these sets. Along with it, the power supply will usually require to be serviced. On rare occasions, the vertical deflection amp fails.
