Re: Sansa e250 cracked faceplate needs replacement

If it's just the faceplate (and not the underlying actual LCD) you could replace it with the intact faceplate from an otherwise defective unit. Any of the e200 series should fit. Try that online auction site to see if you can find a cheap defective one, just make sure the faceplate isn't cracked before you bid.

These mp3 players should *always* be placed in one of those clear protective cases. I have mine not only in a clear plastic case, but also in a leather case with a belt clip. Never just stick it in your pocket as that will surely lead to a damaged headphone jack.

Where do i find a replacement screen? The LCD, not the plastic...

You should check on EBAY as there are people selling non functioning broken units cheap and usually in lots (multiple pieces).
Get the necessary replacement parts you need there and do a part swap on your unit.

Cracked screen LCD

Hello shaffycat,

You can contact SanDisk to get service information. They can give you a basic idea of what it would cost to get an estimate on repairs and the average cost. Their webite is

Cracked screen

if you have a warranty in the store that you bought your sansa from you can change it or replace it. but if you don't have the warranty you just have to take it to a small store that fix the screens.

Swapping parts

The screen is soldered onto the mother board. Not easily replaceable at he user level. The internal memory, on the other hand, is easy to swap between devices. Best of Luck.

i suggest to call sandisk support for this one. And how did you recieve the cracked screen? Because if it physically damage then it would void the warranty of the player. Their number is 1-866-7263475
