Question about Televison & Video

Mitsubishi WD57 57" HDTV

I recently purchased the above product from Circuit City .
The screen delveloped an opaque artifact in the center of the screen extending from the bottom up 8-10" and about 18"-24" wide sort of a semi circular shape in the center of the distortion.
We had the lamp replaced after about 2 months of use and had the service tech look at it , he said that we must have gotten the screen wet.We purchased the Extended service plan and I think it is just an excuse to not honor the repair, we use the tv in the house no where near anything that could have gotten it wet and I personally cleaned the screen per the manufacturer's recomendation,.
Have any of you seen this kind of issue with 57" Mitsubishi screens before ?

Purchased tv from circuit city when going out of business was told warranty would begin on date of purchase from manufacturer. 30 days later tv went black. manufacturer says they don't warranty product...

Your warranty should very well be honored and yes, the warranty does start right when you leave the store as long as you have the original receipt, otherwise, they might just honor the production date via serial number. If you have the original receipt, then you need to tell them this and speak to someone higher up, like a manager. It is not your fault Circuit City went out of business.

Mitsubishi tv model wt 46809

Good Day, sam;
Sam it depends on "smudge".
If it's an oily type; then a mild soap, like dawn, on damp, warm soft cotton type cloth may remove it.
There are products found in most large best buy, circuit stores that sell a screen cleaner. It's sold in a small spay bottle, about 2-3 ounces. Always spray onto cloth NOT screen. Always wipe/clean with up & down strokes, NOT side to side or at an angle.
If the screen is smudged after attempts of trying to 'cleanning' a scratch, then only replacing the screen will fixya problem, cost will be in the range of $100.00-$250.00.
Good Luck, hope this was helpful, big IRISH.

Mitsubishi LCD Flat panel HDTV LT-46131

Hey BooBoo198,

One of the most common reasons why this may occur is if your TV has encountered a recent power fluctuation/surge or has detected any kind of unusual feedback. As a safety precaution, many newer TV's will automatically shut themselves down whenever either of these are encountered. Many models will have one or more lights on the front of their case that may blink if this has happened. According to information from the manufacturer, simply pressing the "System Reset" button on the TV should resolve this kind of issue. If the problem persists however, you may wish to try using a different AC line power conditioner/surge protector.

If the TV doesn't turn on at all, this can also be an indicator that the bulb or lamp in the TV has burned out. Please keep in mind however, that it is generally best to double-check with your owner's manual documentation for confirmation of what any steady/blinking light means.

Additionally, Mitsubishi has indicated that if the "Status" light is either steady or flashing red you may need to contact a factory-authorized repair facility for service.

If you have not had any luck working with either Mitsubishi itself or Circuit City, remember that you can always contact a Best Buy™ representative for further assistance. If we don't have a repair tech in your area, Best Buy™ would be glad to locate a factory-authorized third-party service center on your behalf.

You can reach us by calling our toll-free hotline at 888-Best-Buy (888-237-8289), and asking the operator to speak with our in-home TV repair department.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron
