Can Hear 360 but can see game

My 360 works fine except I can't see the game. You can hear everything but can't see anything, the screen is all black. Please Help! Is it the TV(from the 1980s? if so how come it worked earlier and now it just quit???)? or maybe the game?(halo 3) or is the cable?(don't know what it's called)

tried what alot of people been doing .The towel trick,it worked but
still have the same problem after a few games. It starts to look like if the screen is melting or all sycadellic.Like if my screen was on acid.

The first thing i would check would be the setting on the AV cable if for some reason it got switched to HDTV then it will not work on that tv.

If this doesnt fix your problem try swapping your cable with one that you know works.

The final step is if all those fail you may need to contact MS and let them know that your System needs repair and then describe to them that you have sound and no video they will refer you to the two things that i have suggested above. Hope this helps

Try recording a message to someone, except just play it back to yourself to see what you hear.

Black wii screen but can hear it

Your cables still could be going bad, even though everything else is fine I would go to a gamestop and buy a used cable and see if that works or go buy a brand new one.

Plays dvds on xbox 360 fine, but no picture for games/dashboard

already solved it. thanks. i couldn't see the xbox settings blade because of the blank screen so switched my component cable to the tv setting instead of the hdtv setting, then i could see the dashboard in non-hd and switched the resolution to 720p while simultaneously switching the component cable back to the hdtv setting. that worked.

No screen on the Xbox 360

right do the towel trick it works. wrap the 360 in 2 towels and leave it on for 15 mins. then go bk to your xbox un wrap it. put it near a window if possible ( i did and its working fine) due to it being near a window you will get no overheating and its well ventilated.

Xbox 360 problem

If you can still HEAR sound, but can't see. Check your Audio Video Cable.

It's the colorful one (red, white, yellow) (red, blue green, white, red)

Make sure the connections are secure into the back of the TV as well as the connection to the back of the Xbox 360.

Can hear everything except my girlfriend ):

Is it through an IM program? If so I had a simular problem and I open the sound settings and made sure non of them were muted and it worked fine after that.
