This could be due to many reasons. 1.DUE TO VIRUS INFECTION. Scan your pc for virus infection by running full system scan through your antivirus. Also update your antivirus. 2. DUE to irregulated power supply, your processor temperature can change abruptly, which can lead to the problem u have described. U can check the processor temp. through BIOS. 3.Finally check and re-install your window drivers.
An Amber blinking power button indicates a low voltage problem. This can be caused by a defective power supply or a defective motherboard. It sounds like you have isolated the problem to the motherboard since you removed everything but the board and power supply. You may be able to locate one by browsing the internet. Just type in “DELL Dimension 3100 motherboard” and see if you can locate one at a reasonable price. Your responses are intended to improve the level of service provided. Please rate your experience. Speakers are not built into the box itself. They may be in the monitor, or completely separate.
Did you get this directly from Dell, or from a third party. Dell would have shipped you speakers with it, or a monitor with speakers built-in. Purchased from a third-party you might just get the box itself.
If you have a monitor with speakers, you still have to connect the sound output from the box to the monitor.
