Hi, there can be two reaseons, 1) your RAM is bad or try cleaning the contacts with an ereaser, secondly, ur CPU cooling system might not be working, thats the reason the system shuts down.. try to solve both thgis issues one by one, i think u will be fine..let me know

I have my laptop stuck in safe mode. i checked safe boot by mistake, now why cant i get back to undo it?

Hi Steven-
Laptops should return to normal mode upon subsequent start-up. If it does not, when you (re)start your computer, begin tapping the F8 key repeatedly (like a woodpecker). After a few moments, this will bring up a manual start screen (white letters on a black background)-you will see an option to Start Using Windows Normally down toward the bottom of the screen. Using your arrow keys, scroll down to that choice and hit ENTER. Your PC will then boot up in regular mode.

My Fujitsu laptop wont turn on after updating failure of vista home

1) Try restarting the laptop and press the F8 key a few times while it is rebooting.
2) When you are prompted, move the arrow keys and select "Safe Mode"
3) After the laptop has fully started up in safe mode, just power down normally and restart.
4) It may take a little longer first time but hopefully the system should either roll back to the pre-upgrade state or it may complete the upgrade process sucessfully this time.

Ok my Sony vaio Model #VGN-NR120E keeps restarting on windows error recovery. I try starting in save mode, safe mode with networking, save mode with command prompt, last known good configuration...

HI dmanhd97,

Try this, restart your pc then press f8 continuously, this will take you to safe mode. then after that go to start>run> type in msconfig (windows xp) , and start>search> type in msconfig (windows 7)
this will open up the system configuration under the general tab
select the diagnostic start up then apply>ok>restart

Hope this helps,

Windows does not shutdown properly, asks me if i want to restart in safe mode?

It never hurts to start in safe mode. While in safe mode, some things will not be available to you. Be aware that there is a reason your computer is telling you to start in safe mode. Something happened, hardware or software related, that caused a problem. Windows allows you to start in safe mode to correct problems. Not knowing what the problem was, I might suggest starting in safe mode, then go to start, all programs, accessories, system tools, then system restore. Try to restore your computer to a few days ago when it was working properly. Then restart, and hopefully it will work.

Dell XP restart problem

This error comes due to 1. RAM problem or 2.Hard disk problem or 3.Software/device driver problem or some times 4.Virus problem.
First you run the system in safe mode (pressing F8 at booting) - restore the system (start-programs - accessories - system tools - system restore). PC will be restarted and if it runs well then fine. If not again run in safe mode- uninstall few softwares or utilities, clear the temporary files, few drivers - restart the PC it may run well. If it does not run in safe mode the problem may be due to virus or critical RAM problem (main suspects, as the error may be for different reason). Now you format the hard disk and install your applications and drivers one by one and restart and check whether the problem repeats. Failure with the step you should change the RAM. With all failures - motherboard should be repaired and you have to give to the service center.

Not working

one solution is to start the PC in safe mode. press f8 just before winodws start and choose safe mode. Im not sure that gonna work but you can give it a try. if you can start windows then restore one or two days back and restart your computer.

other way that should work is to:
2. Boot from a XP cd and click R when it ask first question then I command prompt appears. run checkdisk write "chkdsk c: /R" that should fix your problem.

3. If none of these above does work press F8 in begining of windows start and instead choosing safe mode choose "disabling automatic restart, or something like that. I cant remember everything :P anyway if you choose that the computer gonna stop with the error and then you can input the error here and I will give you future instructions.
good luck!
