Good news is that the wireless is configured right. This means that the internet is going thru the router and being broadcasted out. If you did not have to type in a key then the bad news is that anyone close enough to see it can also connect without a key. Neighbors and people around can mooch free internet from you and not have to pay. What you will need to do is reset your router by pressing the reset button (lil red button) on the back for about 10 seconds. After this, hardwire to it and open internet explorer and goto http://192.168.1.1 and use username administrator and no password or "admin" as the password. You will have to reset it all from scratch.
If you did have to type in a key to connect to it I would still reset it just so that you can log into it. This is important so you can manage and change your key every once in a while and also to check and see if there are any updates available for your router. Let me know if you need more information.
