BROTHER INTELLIFAX 2800 RECEIVES MESSAGES [SHOWS RECEIVING] BUT DOES NOT PRINT. INK IS OK. HOW DO WE SOLVE THE PROBLEM?

- the printer prints sometimes, but at other times it stops printing messages. yesterday, I asked a friend to send me a fax. when he tried to send it to me, there was a ring in my fax machine, followed by the sign "receiving" in the window, but the sign of "printing" never came and the machine did not print any thing (not even an error message) - after a minute, it went back to sleep mode. My friend got an error message in his fax that the page was not transmitted.Clarification Request

Does it never print faxes at all? This model will react like this if someone calls the fax line by mistake ( a voice call) Does it give any error indication ?
