Problem for EA - Electronic Arts Madden NFL 08 for PlayStation 2

I have Madden 08 and all of the codes wont work

I have Madden 08 and all of the codes wont work like when i type in legend34 it wont let me type in the whole thing. It seems like it works for everyo ne else. So is there something I have to do first or what? And its for PS2.

General Unlocks These are general miscellaneous unlocks that you can get in the game.
Unlock All – At the main menu, enter L2, R1, X, Triangle, L1, L2
Unlock Madden Cards – Enter Up, Down, Left, Right, X, Square, Triangle, Circle.
Unlock 99 Roster – Enter Up, Down, X, Circle, Left, Right, Up, L2, R2
Character Unlocks These are some of the characters you can unlock by putting in the proper cheat codes into the system.
Walter Payton Unlock – As a madden code, put in “legend34” and then when you go to the free agents you should be able to sign him onto the roster of your favorite team.
Mike Ditka Unlock – As a madden code, put in “legend89” and then you can go to the free agents and sign him onto your favorite team.
Joe Greene Unlock – As a madden code, put in “JG75” and then when you are in free agents you can put him into your favorite team.
Mike Singletary Unlock – As a madden code, put in “MS50” and then in the free agents section you can sign him on.
Joe Montana Unlock – As a madden code, you will put in “QB16” and then he will be able to be signed in the free agent listing.
Emmitt Smith Unlock – As a madden code, you need to put in “RB22” and then he is in the free agent listing able to sign.
Barry Sanders Unlock – As a madden code, put in “RB24” and then he can be signed in the free agent listing.
Gale Sayers Unlock – As a madden code, put in “RBKR40” and then the free agent listing will have him there to be signed.
Dan Marino Unlock – As a madden code, put in “QBDM13” and he will be able to be signed from the free agency list.
Jerry Rice Unlock – As a madden code, put in “JerryR” and he is on the free agent list so that you can sign him.
Sid Luckman Unlock – As a madden code, put in “Sid” and then he is on the free agency list to be signed.

These are some of the most used cheat codes in the Madden NFL ’08 game. There may be others floating around, this is by no means all of them, just a good sampling of the most popular ones.
