I have an 8gb Ultra Speed USB drive with these problems:
1. I am not able to copy or delete any files/folders to it (or) from it. It alerts that the disk cannot be written to because it is write protected.
2. I'm not able to format it also. . It alerts that the disk cannot be written to because it is write protected.
3. Sometimes I’m allowed to cut/copy/delete/format it after trying so many times. So trying and waiting for the action.
4. I’m able to make a new folder and rename also. But not able to delete it. Very interesting that automatically a file (namely- USBC╚δ╬ä.; USBC╚3╔ä.; USBChñä.:USBC≡ßë.....etc...) is being created inside the folder immediately upon creation which is showing a huge size around 1.98GB to 3.36GB, but the actual size is not being occupied if I check its properties.

i have an external hardisk wd500 and an ibm laptop. the problem is when i copy/cut a file from my lappy to the wd500 it says disk is write protected connot copy, use another disk. but when i copy files from wd500 to lappy, it does and also i can delete files in my lappy. another thing when i cut a file from my wd500 and paste in my lappy it actually just copies it. i think my internal hdd is write protected somehow, how do i remove it???
