Wireless switch

hi,
Thsi seems extremely silly... i ahve today bought a Toshiba Equium A200 1OV - i am having difficulties connecting to the internet i cannot switch on the wireless function for it to search for any networks!! its crazy i have tried pressing the function button and F8 is does come up but it says 'wireless communications is disabled - please turn on the wireless communication switch!!!
Any help will be grateful!!

ok, i have a Belkin Router..
Sorry if i sound stupid... do u need to install the Belkin Driver on the laptop...
i was lead to believe i could just search and select from the list as i would for example if i was at somebody elses house??

i have checked the energy settings and they are fine - they are set to achieve maximum performance.
any further help would be great!!!

WizMake sure you have the latest drivers, router and NB.
Does it connect on reboot with the SSID off?
Does it work on repair?
if so, check your energy settings, some times they power down the wireless to save energy. There are also settings on how it behaves.

Have u called their technical support? I hear some people have the same issue as u, where the thing sometimes just doesn't feel like working...and other times, it does... I'm not sure if it's an actual glitch with the thing, or not. give them a call, and respond here with what they say >.<
