I have a Daewoo/Trutech DRT-S810 DVD/VHS recorder combo. I bought it about 6 months ago but just got it out of the box today and connected it. The DVD portion works fine but it won't put a VHS tape in that side and I don't want to force it in. Any suggestion on how to fix this problem

Thanks for giving it a go. As I am not that well versed in these machines, it looks like no amount of force will make the tape go in. I can't see anything logged in the carriage, moving the carriage manually is very difficult and it barely does move and very unevenly. It might actually be bent but I'm not sure. I have kept the unit sealed and in its original container until opening it to hook it up so dust may not be the issue. It seems I'm going to have to be satisfied with the DVD section only. Thanks again for trying!
If the VHS isnt going in it may require a little force as the track might have gotten stuck with dust. if you think its something else i suggest you openj it up and see if these is anything logged in the carriage way or if the tray might just be stuck. once it is open simply insertthe vhs tape and keep pressing in on it until the machine takes it in. while pressing keep you eye on the carriage and see hwat might be stuck as to preven the tape from entering. BUT I THINK IT MIGHT JUST REQUIRE A LITTLE FORCE as it may be binded with lack of use
