R6 Battery Door No Longer Working

I noticed that the door to my camera wasn't closing all the way.
I opened up and the little tan plastic piece which sits between the battery and memory card had broken off. A tiny spring was apparently also loose.
Any idea what could cause this? Is this something I can repair myself? If so, how do I get the repair manual and spare part? How would I go about getting someone else to repair this?
