WizYour question is very vague. The reason is that there are many components in a TV set that can cause no sound or picture.
The main thing that is in common is the main power supply. In your set, a failure of the horizontal scan amplifier will also cause no picture or sound, because its secondary side supplies power for most of the TV's operation.
