Hi,
These drives have a few weak points where they are sauldered together. It's a delicate procedure but I can recommend a data recovery center to assist you if you're not able to do this yourself. This would be able to repair the most likely failure.
If the repair is unsuccessful they recovery pros may still be able to assist you in retrieving your files. If however the files are not worth spending $100+ on I would recomend simply buying a replacement flash drive as current 4GB models cost $10-$15.
If you do need the files off the device and want a referral to a pro, reply here with you location(Country, State and City) and I will be happy to provide you with a referral.
