After dead battery radio has no power

Battery might have died cause the altinator is not charging 14+V Please charge the battery, donot boost the dead battery. After charging the battery check the altinator output.

try reseating the memory cards in the notebook if the lights come on but no display usually memory cards have been knocked loose.
that is one defect that they have is memory cards come loose if the laptop has been jarred from being in a car getting bounced around in the seat etc.
the memory cards control a portion of the video and if the memory cards lose connection you loose video.

Is the alternator charging? recharge the battery with a battery charger, and then have the battery and alternator checked on the car.

Have you checked the radio fuse? You may have blown the fuse when you jumped the car. The fuse box should be out under the hood encased in black plastic.

sounds like its wired up wrong, remove the radio unplug the connector and remove the radio, then check all your fuses must have blown one when radio was installed, after that charge battery and with radio removed see if battery goes dead, if not recheck wiring to radio, common problem with vw aftermarket radio,they are installed wrong,good luck,

So they stay on until your battery goes dead? If it's just the parking lights. I would probably start by checking at the back of the headlight switch to see if it's switching the parking light output off. There is also a Parking LP relay in the underhood fuse block. You might want to swap another like relay in for it and see if it fixes it. There are probably more relays in that block just like it that you can use to try.

Actually starting at the relay would be easiest. The park lamp on switch signal at your headlight switch should be the gray/black wire in pin 2 of the connector

Your car has a poorly designed dashboard without sufficient ventilation for stereos. You could try to modify the aperture a bit.

Your handset or charger has gone bad (provided you installed rechargable batteries), or both. The previous user may have installed alkaline batteries (is their a white powdery residue in the the charge compartment?), and that can ruin the charge circuit.
