It could be a fuse and be aware the fuse is on the power supply. It most likely is a failed power supply.

No power

sounds like some of the Caps on the power supply board are getting hot.. check for swollen tops on top of the caps,, u can buy and replace the bad one. or a simple fix is just buy a new power supply board, Be careful fooling around in the power supply the Caps can and will hold a charge, and it will Let you know real quick if u touch one wrong. If you are not comfortable with soldering I would suggest replacing the whole board. it is usually real easy to replace. I would take lots of pictures Before u take the back off and even more of the power supply to make sure u get the new one in correctly. get the correct power supply parts # off the old one, do not remove the old one till u have the new one on hand.. I have replaced several power supplies in Flat Screen TV's this past year or two. it is cheaper that buying a new on.. good luck. and be careful and wear safety glasses make sure the power is OFF on the TV.

When I plug the tv it won't turn on nor does the

The red light is usually one of the first things that is powered by the power supply of the set. If even this is not working the place to start diagnosis is in the power supply. If you are not a qualified technician taking safety precautions then please refer the repair to a professional TV repair shop.

I was trying to format my computer when sudenly i moved the cd drive to conect a dvd drive , i think i heard static , thats when the red led turns on or beeps 5 times ,, could it be that the power source...

Make sure your RAM and all your cards are seated correctly. I'm guessing based on the static sound and immediate loss of power that your power supply is damaged and needs to be replaced. If the fan in your power supply doesn't turn on, this is in indication that you have a dead power supply. Smell the power supply to make sure it isn't burnt. It will be very obvious if it is.

I cannot turn on my tv. when i press on there is a red light blinking at the bottom of the right hand side corner. the red light is blinking 1 slow bit and 2 fast bit and it repeat again and again even...

this case mostly encountered now with in the flat panel television even in other brand, which need thorough troubleshooting. i am hoping that this ideas can help you to fix the problem.first thing to do you will need to open the back cover to access all the board for trouble shooting, there are many things to considered why doesn't turn on but before you go on in trouble shooting let examine first the board look for burnt parts or even PCB foil pattern. and then now turn on your TV then check output voltage at power supply according to its label make sure are all present. if their is a problem with in the output voltage disconnect all the load side then check again, then if you noticed voltage doesn't good unplug the TV then check the filter and the output filter capacitor, use capacitor checker for good reading.aside the parts from power supply you will need to check blown fuse link at control board.

Bought new power supply, no difference power button will not even go on or light up ; however small green light on mother board lights up. als accidentaly disconnected the switches wiring to the mother...

The green light just show that the motherboard is getting power.
The power button of the front of the case is connected to the mother board, not to the power supply, usually in the extreme lower left corner along with the with the HDD and Reset Button cords; Power button wire are labeled and usually red/black.
If all wired correctly, possible bad or stuck power button or reset button.
Hope this helps.

I got a red light on my power cord, what do I?super

A red light on a power cord for the Xbox 360 usually means it has overheated. Try unplugging the power supply and leaving it alone for awhile to cool down. Make sure to not cover the power supply when you do reconnect it to keep it well ventilated. If this doesn't work you may have to replace the faulty device.

Power supply light is red

This issue occurs when the external power supply has detected a fault. The power supply has several built-in safeguards to help prevent damage to either the console or to the power supply itself. The power supply will turn itself off if one of the following conditions is true:
  • There is too much current
  • The voltage is too high
  • The temperature of the power supply is too high
Under these conditions, the light on the power supply turns red.

Step 1: Make sure that the power supply is cool loadTOCNode(2, 'whattotry'); The red light may indicate that the power supply is too hot or that it has already overheated. If the power supply light is red, follow these steps:
  1. Make sure that your Xbox 360 console is turned off.
  2. Disconnect your Xbox 360 Power Supply from your Xbox 360 console and from the wall socket.

For more information about how to disconnect the Xbox 360 power supply, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 906205 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/906205/ ) How to connect and disconnect the Xbox 360 power supply
  3. Let the power supply cool for several hours in a well-ventilated space. Do not connect the Xbox 360 power supply to the console or to the wall socket during this time.
  4. After the power supply has cooled for several hours, reconnect the Xbox 360 Power Supply to the console and to the wall socket.
If the power supply light is still red, go to step 2. Step 2: Make sure that the power supply is plugged in correctly loadTOCNode(2, 'whattotry'); If the power cord is plugged in to an extension cord, a surge protector, or a power strip, the current or voltage that flows through the power supply may not be correct. Make sure that the power supply is plugged directly into a working wall outlet.
Step 3: Plug the power supply into a different wall socket loadTOCNode(2, 'whattotry'); Try a different wall socket. Ideally, plug the power supply into a wall outlet that is elsewhere in the house.

I have a '81 280zx NA. When I turn the car off the dash door, brake, fuel, and clock lights don't turn off. The car was hacked by the previous owner. I've made attempts to correct many of the mistakes...

jonj1138: BINGO! I believe you have probably hit on the correct source of the problem. Who ever installed the radio, probably looked for the wire which supplied power when the lights were on which should be the red wire with the blue tracer. They have somehow tied the unswitched circuit into the lighting circuit. They may have even picked off of the the cigarette lighter. Then they tied it into an Unswitched power source, not thinking of the feedback.
Unswitched power sources: a red with a white tracer and a red with a black tracer. I believe I have the correct colors It's been years since I have worked in a ZX ans I don't have a SCHEMATIC handy. I am doing this from memory. There may be two wire connected to the Unswitched power supply. From your stereo, you will have a Yellow wire. This is the Memory wire. Leave it hooked up to the Unswitched power supply. The other wire needs to be disconnected and if it was hooked up to light the for the radio, hook it up to the red with blue tracer. That will be the switched circuit for the lighting.

I hope that this will solve your problem. Good Luck!

Is the it the power supply red light?

The red light may indicate that the power supply is too hot or is overheated. Therefore, you should let the power supply cool for several hours in a well-ventilated space. During this time, you should not try to turn the console back on to allow the power supply sufficient time to cool. As soon as the power supply has cooled off, the power supply light will change from red to orange, and you can turn the console back on.

If the power supply light is still red after you have let the power supply unit cool in a well-ventilated space, the power supply unit may require replacement.
Also make sure the power msupply is plugged in correctly.

You could also purchase a new power cord.
Good luck
