I NEED ASSITANCE ON HOW TO CHANGE INK RIBBON IN THE TERMINAL.

We found that it was neither the thermal paper roll nor the thermal component. The cover did not close tight enough and that caused the print-put to be light or missing printed areas.

Omni 3700 series terminals (inlcuding the 3740) do not use ink ribbons they are thermal printers which use heat to effectively burn the image/text in the paper. You may be using the wrong paper (3 1/4 thermal is what you need). Sometimes the thermal component goes bad but you can get it fixed through a vendor like CDE although it may cost you upwards of $100-$150.
