Hi, I have an LG Flatron TV which I bought 6 years ago. Good picture, no problems until now. I put the set on standby via the remote. Later, when I put it on via the remote all I got was sound and no picture and then it goes on standby again. I've tried switching off for long periods but it still returns to standby. Can you help please. Thanks, Trevor

Since the screen keeps turning off and sound only remains have a look at the inverter board for any buldging capacitors which look like blue cans, there is most probably a short in the inverter and the powersupply is sensing this thus turning it back into standby to prevent damage to the tv.
