Question about Canon DC210 DVD Camcorder

1 Answer

Finalizing Disc Took a few pictures, then plugged the disc in my laptop, the disc drive won't even show up. The manual states to finalize the disc and that option seems to be disabled or greyed out. Can you help?

Re: Finalizing Disc

In order to finalize the disc you must have the the camcorder plugged in and you must have it in playback mode. I hope this resolves your problem

DVD Finalization

im guessing your talking about a new disc here , before you can do anything with the disc ,you will either have to format it or erase it, once you have donr that you can then use the disc and edit its contents. im assuming you are using the correct type of disc for your machine, eg dvd+rw or dvd-rw check the manual to make sure your machine can record onto a dvd+rw disc. hope this is of some help to you.

the disc is most probally badly manufactured this is why it could not finalize. the only thing you can do now is playback the disc in the camera and plug the AV out into a stand alone dvd recorder and dump it to disc or hdd.

Finalizing a disc (when plugged in) on a Canon DC210

I think it is a problem with the camera.
We had one, couldn't finalize, exchanged that, and still the same problem.
Canon NO help whatsoever.
Even the mini disc companies that we purchased, NO help either.
We are returning this camera and going with a hard drive.
We were able to plug the camera to a DVD recorder and copy onto a full size disc.

Power disconnected during finalization

There's no way you can continue the finalization of the disc, the disc has been marked as finalized already, even a single power fluctuation when you are using ac power adaptor can affect the disc finalizing process, so it is better to use battery when disc finalizing

Battery died in the middle of finalizing

Hi, If you want to edit the video, try copying the unfinalized VOB or VRO file from the mini-DVD onto your harddrive by just putting it on the dvd drive of your pc.. u can use premire or some other tolls to get the work done and finally burn it another dvd as you like. good luck my friend sreejith

Video not found after finalizing disc on Samsung SC-DC164 DVD Camcorder

Put it back in the Camera and see if it tells you the disc is finalized when it tries to format the disc. If it does then you know for sure it is finalized..
