Cable channels not working

Hey

My JVC used to work great no problems one day the cable decides to go out on it. The cable works fine on another tv. When I change the channel on the tv every channel comes in the same as channel 2. Thats why I think its locked or has to do with the V-chip. How do I get my channels back?

Why would JVC 8010 optic digital randomly malfunction?

I don't know if this helps but, if you have your bluray hooked directly to your tv some times TVs can have issues sending the proper channel to audio out to the receiver. You should always connect your bluray and other devices directly to your receiver.

if that's not the case,
Try turning the tv speakers back on, test the bluray hooked directly to the tv and see if things work flawlessly just with the tv and bluray.

If they don't there may be something just wrong with the cables.

If they do work flawlessly then there may be something wrong with the receiver.

If you already had your bluray connected to the receiver, I would still try direct to tv test and swapping cables.

The randomness leads me to think cables. But you can rule them out by testing directly to TV.

I hope that helps

I have a JVC tv model AV 27495. I hooked it to the cable with the cable cord. I can only get cable 2 channel. I can't access any channels. What do I need to hook into the cable? Do I need a box since...

Yes, with the Direct TV box it did all the tuning and your TV had only to be on one channel, normally ch 3 or ch 4. Now that it is not there any more your TV tuner must do the work. You now will have to tell the TV to search for channels. Use your remote and TV menu to do this. You will be able when the search is complete to see some of the cable channels but other premium cable channels you won't be able to see without a cable box.

Weak or no signal

you would need to know if the tuner is picking up analog signals in the air well( stick a wire a little bit in the tuner connection to see if channels pick up good or use an antenna , if so there should not be a problem with the cable being hooked up to it , if there is a problem even with an antenna then the tuner is bad and will need to be replaced , and the cable could have caused it to go out , but make sure that the tuner is working or not first.

VCR/Cable TV Connection

I guess you are using the cable TV feed looped through the VCR to the TV set.

Make sure you did not confuse the in and out loop of the VCR.

In the VCR menu, or on the remote there is usually a button called TV/VCR (Video). Make sure it is in the TV mode to watch the cable. In the VCR (Video) mode, the TV must be on the VCR's designated channel to watch the VCR, and the VCR tuner is used to watch the cable channels.
