i bought a D40 today. cant see anything on the LCD screen when shooting although can review pic after the shot on LCD . i am quite sure that the saleman showed me that i can use the LCD to check the scene before shooting (like any point-and-shoot digital camera). can somebody be kind enough to tell me whether when i was on drug during the purchase ><. thank you so much.

would also like to know how to turn auto REVIEW on and off in settings.

thank you so much.

dear sunriser,
thank you for the advice. that explains it.
i bought a CHEAP japanese domestic model so all manuals and software are in a foreign language which i dont understand.

this unfortunately also forbids me to go to the official website to download anything in relation to any japan export models/

if anyone knows where to download ANY of the above, i would really appreciate it.

happy new year.

Most DSLRs (like the Nikon D50) don't have live view. In other words, in order to see the picture you must take it first.

About the auto review off, go to menu, "pencil" submenu, and the option is there (scroll until you see it)

With respect, you should read the manual. It's very comprehensive and needed. :)
