When downloading with the computer having Vista, the matching software will automatically show up for that Operating System. You can scroll down on the support page for changing manually the OS. When the screen does not show Vista downloads, select and SUBMIT for selecting the required Operating System (Vista 32 or 64 bit)
For software for the computer look under Application:
click 'Show Details' for more information about the software.
Media Source Player contains the utilities for main tasks.
There are also extra programs and updates when running Vista.
You'll need to know what the player will actually play. Usually it's MP4. There are many pieces of software that will convert videos to different formats the one I use is VLC media player. On their site, there's a tutorial on how to convert videos to many different formats. When you've done this, drag the converted video into the correct file on the Creative Zen, and away you go.
You may also want to check the number of pixels on the screen, so you can set the converter to the right size.
Have you tried updating the firmware of your Zen V Plus? I've had mine for almost an year and haven't had these issues -- I updated the firmware as soon as I unpacked it.
Before returning the player, try downloading the MP3 player recovery tool from Creative's website (the tool contains the latest firmware update available -- 1.15.03). Plug your ZV+ into your PC, run the program and let it update the firmware. Then format, reload your music and try it.
By the way, before updating the firmware, let the battery have a full charge, ok?
My creative zen nano plus 1GB bought 6 months back, when connected to the comp it hangs...then after long time it gives an error message that write file delayed in F:. I didn't even try to write any file...the right click also hangs the computer after long time

you can find it at the creative website, download section.
double click the file you just dl'ed, now make sure your
zen nano player is already connected to your pc when you run the file. it may take a bit of time before your pc can detect your zen nano be patient, a window prompt will soon appear asking if you want to update your firmware with the one youve just dl'ed.
now, dont worry if the firmware is the same as the one already
installed in your zen nano, just continue with the update.
you can also check the box in which there is the option of also formatting the drive. ( note: all files in your zen nano will be lost)
after the firmware is flashed you can now play and transfer files to your zen nano plus.
