I have an error 5A in my dcp-110c

i had this printer for quite some time already and had its cartridges refilled. now i tried to test print it but it won't. i get this error 5A when in maintenance mode what does this mean. i also get a cranky noise inside the printer when start black is pressed or to print for that matter. then it says scanner cover is open, sometimes a paper jam that does not exist. please help me w/ this...

I just got it and it scans but it keeps saying i have a paper jam when there is not one. how do i fix this?

GuruPurge unit error. Check for a piece of paper in the purge unit - right hand side of printer where the carriage sits. Trick the machine by powering off while carriage is moving and check for paper under the cover. If no paper there is a problem you can not correct and you need to get it serviced.
