Samsung HLR5667W lamp replace

My lamp burned out and I replaced it, no problem, but now I have a greyish/black vertical stripe on the far left side of television about 2 inches wide. Is there any way to adjust this?

Re: Samsung HLR5667W lamp replace

It's really easy too move the light engine just enough to cause this problem when replacing the bulb and really likely when changing the color wheel.

The only way to fix it is to take the whole back of the set off and loosen the bolts holding the light engine in place then move it around until it's exactly centered.

The Problem you all are describing is a faulty light tunnel assembly it is common on most DLP projector sets.

Something I would not recommend attempting if you don't have the skills, It involves taking apart the optical system of the engine, you could have it repaired from an authorized service center for under $400.00.

I gave up ... bought a new Sharp LCD and had the Samsung hauled away. The local stores aren't even selling the old rear projection sets any more ... and Samsung was NO HELP ! Enough already!

Re: Samsung HLR5667W lamp replace

I have the exact same issue that ididitmyself described above. I have a vertical gray line shadow that is hindering the quality of the image for a few weeks. My TV's model number is HLR5667. It has been 25 months since I bought it. Any help resolving this would be greatly appreciated. I hope that Samsung representatives read these posts and take corrective action to their products and assist us in guiding us to resolve this issue. This is negatively reflecting on their image in the eyes of consumers.

My Samsung DLP HLR5667W went blank. Just before it went out, I was unable to control volume/mute. I replaced the lamp ($175 a Walt's ripoff shop) and the TV worked for four hours then died again

I would guess that it could be the main board going bad. Check all our connections and wiring. You should call places like Tri-State Module and they can probably send you a part or repair for way less than 500 bucks.

Samsung hlr5667w TV made a popping noise then the picture started

Most likely. You should remove the lamp door, pull out the lamp, and inspect it. Look into the center of the lamp, does it look dark or swollen? Does it look chalky on only one side? Did it burst? If so, you definitely need a new lamp. I hope this helps.

I have a hlr5667W rear projection tv... when i turn it on, the lamp light blinks then no picture and then the tv turns itself off... what could be the problem?

Take out your Lamp and look at the front glass but DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS!!!. If you see shattered glass inside, you have a bad Lamp.
Look on the Left side of the set and you will see a Orange sticker. Record the Lamp Code as there several types for your set.
