I agree with HawaiiTech. If your FAV6800AW or FAV9800AW has water still flowing with the washer 120VACpower cord pulled then the inlet valve is stuck open.Because you are posting in the Neptune FAV6800AW Top Load Washer forum here is some machine specific info for the FAV6800AW or FAV9800AW TL’s.If you are going to DIY here are the links you need; The Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference. See page 35/36 to access, remove and replace the hot/cold water inlet valve. The part number for the inlet valve is 12002242.There is aSubstitution P/N 25001046 you will see that here its item 21 at Sears Parts Direct. If you DIY you may want to consider a local purchase, take your water inlet valve assembly to the parts counter and make sure the 120VAC connectors on the solenoids match up.The water inlet valve is easy to replace just follow the SM. If your machine type is not a FAV6800AW or FAV9800AW please disregard my post. Good luck and post back if you have questions or concerns ….Rich… aka dh1200s

- Captric, thank you for the Thumbs Up and Testimonial. I’m an owner not a repair person and ya sound like a DIY’er. That’s where I try to help out folks, I own the machine and feel very comfortable with machine repair which as you get some hands on is a very easy machine to repair/replace components. I’ll attach some links to the schematics for all machine series. There is a Troubleshooting guide in the console if you haven’t already pulled.Just unplug power to the machine and remove the three #15 Torx sheet metal screws top back console the guide should be inside, it also has the schematic in the guide. I find a soft copy of the SM and schematic easy to deal with from the laptop when working on the machine.Glad to help out a forum DIY’er. Wiring information (series 10) Wiring information (series 13) Wiring information (series 15) The first two digits of your serial number are your machine series.Water inlet valve is not series sensitive.Good luck with your repair…Rich

I have the Maytag Neptune MAH8700 series. I keep receiving the E3 error. It seems to happen just before the spin cycle. I have checked the wiring harness connectors for loose connections and that does not seem to be the problem. I have been told that I may need to reset the memory. Is this possible on this machine?
