Toner end life

After replacing black toner with new cartridge, I continue to receive Toner Life End Black message

The red light blinks and error page declares toner low. replaced toner cartridge with official Samsung replacement ML-1610D2/ELS (ie an OEM cartridge). Error light still blinks and error page still reports low toner. I have removed and re seated the cartridge (and shaken it too as per instructions).

Any help would be great. Thanks in advance

    My Sammsung ML-2510 is about 6 weeks old and the red LED warning flashed to signal low toner. Although I hadn't printed nearly as many pages as I would have expected, I installed a new toner (Samsung OEM, sealed black plastic bag). LED continues to flash and printer will not print anything except a test page which reports the toner is low. I've turned the printer on and off several times, unplugged it then plugged it back in, and restarted my computer. Nothing seems to fix the false message. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    My Samsung ML-2510 is about a year old. I got the red blinking light and it stopped printing. Total page count was only 533 but based on the Samsung User's Guide, I replaced the toner. The light is no longer blinking but it still doesn't print. When I attempt to print, it starts the printer and makes all the appropriate noise but nothing happens. What could be the problem? Any help would be great. Thanks.

    Same. Have tried everything, including searching inet and looking at this particular site. I now just ignore the blinking red light.

    even after putting in a new toner cartridge it continues to to say toner is low. Could it be the wrong cartridge?

Saw this on another site, replace the fuse on the side of the cartridge and the light goes away. I took the fuse out just to see if it would work without it and it still prints and the light still blinks. I'm on a new cartridge, but no way I've printed 3000 pages already. I'm going to replace the fuse and see what happens.

Oooops - missed that bit. It prints perfectly from PC or its own error page. The printed error page declares 'low toner'. It is about a year old (Feb 2007). This is its first toner replacement. I am unaware of the problem occuring prior to the first toner cartridge running low. I have cleaned the electrical connection strips on the side of the cartridge just in case. (it was in a sealed black bag in a sealed samsung box with the protective paper insert correctly installed - but i did it anyway). I have also slowly rolled the cartridge in several axis to ensure the ink dust is distributed evenly inside the cartridge.

All the door flaps close and lock ok.
The paper is grabbed perfectly.
There are no streaks of print.

The error report sheet correctly increments the OPC count and the pixel count - but neither starts from 0 with the new cartridge.

My belief is that the cartridge's onboard EEPROM returns a value that is over the threshold that blinks RED LED. I just hope that there is not another threshold that tells the printer not to continue printing.

The time you and I have spent thinking about this is probably worth more than a replacement printer, but I don't want to throw away an otherwise perfectly good printer.

    And if you are not disturbed by this message - it is ok.
    I think this problem will disappear when you will use not an oem cartridge

My brother DCP 7055 shows eror replace toner

Some Brother laser printers have separate consumables - the toner cartridge and the drum unit. From time to time you may need to replace only the drum unit and not the toner cartridge.

The error LED lights up, or an error message shows on a flat screen panel, when the drum unit is near the end of its working life. Use the drum unit until you have a print quality problem, then replace the drum unit with a new one.

HP 4015x and I get an insert black cartridge error. Not sure what I should be replacing on it or what to check on the printer.

This error is most common when your toner cartridge has reached it's end of life. Sometimes it will alternate with "This cartridge has reached a low threshold error" which indicates you can keep printing but need to order a new toner cartridge. See page 155 of your support manual for more on this error.
See page #117 of your user guide for toner installation instructions.
If you have installed a new toner cartridge and receive "Remove Shipping Lock Error" that means you have not removed the protective strip on page 118 step #5.
You can order new toner cartridge from HP PartSurfer or retail merchant where printer purchased. CC364-67902 Black print cartridge - Prints approximately 24,000 pages per cartridge CC364-67901 Black print cartridge - Prints approximately 10,000 pages per cartridge

My HL-2140 brother laser printer is flashing a red error

1>If the toner lite is blinking , it's mean the toner life near to end. In these case please replace the toner cartridge.
2>f the drum lite is blinking , it's mean the drum life near to end. In these case please replace the drum.

Toner life end warning light. replaced with new toner/drum still error

To reset the sensor after installing a new toner cartridge follow these steps.
1. With unit powered on open the front cover.
2. Press the "Options" key. Display will show "Replace Drum?"
3. Press "Start" key.
4. Press "+" key 10 times until the display reads 10.
5. Press "SET" key.
6. Display will show "Accepted" for approximately 2 seconds. Then display will change to "Cover Open".
7. Close cover and see if Toner Life End error message has gone.

Magenta (yellow) unit is PAST end of life... (I have changed cartridges I still have this message. I tried to read instruction, and I got following message: Install P/N 108R00649 following the instalation)

You have replaced the toner cartridge but you still have to replace the imaging unit which is the drom that the toner cartridge attaches to.
Toner Cartridge OK, Low, Empty When 15,000
(high-capacity cartridge) or

Imaging Units At/Near end-of-life When 30,000 pages are
printed out or when the
pixel counts are
A fuse in the new
imaging unit will blow
upon installation,
resetting the counter.

Maybe the toner is low... According to the manual, a blinking red light:

• A minor error is occurring and
the printer is waiting for the error
to be cleared. When the problem
is cleared, the printer resumes
• The toner cartridge is low. Order
a new toner cartridge. You can
temporarily improve print quality
by redistributing the toner. See
page 8.3.
• The toner is totally exhausted.
Remove the old toner cartridge
and install a new one. See page
• The toner cartridge reached the
end of its life.

Dcp 7020 and 7040 toner life end message premature, need override

When the Toner Life End LED flips on, requires you to replace the cartridge, even when there's still toner left in the cartridge. The machine detects end of life by shining a light through from one side to the other.
To circumvent the detection mechanism, remove the cartridge and put a piece of masking tape over or jam a little bit of paper into the clear opening/circle on the right side of the toner cartridge, and then pop the cartridge back in. Eventually, you'll start seeing streaks, and then you'll know that the cartridge is truly empty.

Change of toner

I have a brother mfc 7840w

I first used the electrical tape trick and that worked for a while. Then got the toner low message again. I then tried the *00 trick, which works as follows:

1. lift lid and open front cover
2. press clear/back. "Replace Drum?" will appear on the screen.
3. Press "*00" it will then read accepted and the toner low error (End of Toner Life) should go away.
4. close it all up and your done.

Toner end life

There are silver wire contacts on the left and right that are spring-loaded and touch on copper tabs on the cartridge. They may not be making proper contact. Wiping with some contact cleaner ona cloth may help, or failing that try brightening the surfaces with some fine Scotchbrite pad to help them make proper contact.

You need to clean the printer. See your manual for instructions. It is probably dust on the laser lens
