My Sony V1p produces soft images...

my Sony V1p produces soft images...like the back focus is out but Sony have looked at it and say there is nothing wrong with it. A tech has looked at it and says one of the lens elements has been displaced and it will cost $1700 to replace...does this seem right? It has been well looked after and a lot of other camera ops I speak to have had the same problem
